How to explain the inexplicable?
How to describe the indescribable?
How to paint a picture vividly enough
So that people will understand?

How do you draw friendship?
I could do a collage maybe…
An image of laughter, another of tears,
Another of long talks and petty squabbles

But there’s more than that too.
How do you illustrate trust?
Or companionable silence?
Or the music and the joy?

It’s not that it’s so difficult but
The simple things are so hard to explain
A thousand pictures could paint a thousand words
And still not tell the tale
