What price love?

What price love?

“I would give my life for you”
Do you really mean it?
If it meant dying, yes
But what if it means living?

What if it means that
Every thought and every action
Puts someone else first?
Are you still willing?

What price love?
Do you ever stop to assess
Underneath the giddiness
Just what you’re giving up
To drink from love’s sweet cup?

What price love?
Would you give up your name
If that day came
When your only goal
Was to join your soul?

Would you pay that price?
Would you even think twice?
If you knew that even you
Would one day come to view
The “we” as more important than the you

Really love this one - but unfinished how, exactly? Reads perfectly polished to me. You could use italics in the last line on "we" and "you" rather than using quotes (and you haven't done it on both).

Really nice stuff Windrose. The large spacing is a bit of a reading issue though, esp. on the smaller font size.

*is irked* I could have sworn I corrected the spacing issue after proof-reading it before I hit publish. Evidently not. Not sure why it does this on poetry but not on prose either.
